Worlds Paragliding Manilla Australia

Today is Wednesday 7Th March, The Worlds Paragliding Competition is three days from closing on Friday 9Th March with a Big Street Party and Awards Ceremony. The flying has been great when they can get up in the sky. Three tasks have completed so far out of 12 Days.

The weather has been playing hazards with the Paragliders Pilots on top of Mount Borah. They have been entertaining and creating there own fun while they para-wait for the big break in the weather. The teams even played a game of Soccer on the Mountain the Europeans against the rest of the world on the grounds 6000 mt rs above sea level.

We will keep you posted on all the action taking place in Manilla,The Manilla Hometown DVD will be coming out in the next few weeks with the behind the scenes of the Worlds Paragliding Competition,The Tasks take off and landings at Goal and many interviews and big parade Opening Ceremony and closing Street Party.

Today Thursday flying tasks cancelled, due to heavy rain falling in Manilla. Looks like the Drought is starting to be over with loads of rain falling on Mount Borah launch sites.

Friday is the last day of flying for the Worlds Paragliding Pilots bringing the competition to a close with a Big Street Party and presentation for the Winners.
The Townspeople of Manilla has really got behind the Worlds event with many people offering services and goods to the International Pilots.

Spotlight On Worlds Paragliding In Manilla Australia


The Worlds Paragliding is being going for a week today, The flying days have been great with Two Tasks completed from Mount Borah launches. The Pilots have been entertained for past few nights in the New formed Town Square with Live bands and Solo Performers.

The Manilla Show and Country Rodeo is in town and all the Pilots joined in the Fun last night. The upcoming DVD currently now in filming stages will be available in the next few weeks in a 90 Min's format which will include the Highlights of the Manilla townships locals and events taking place throughout the Worlds.

Worlds Paragliding Manilla Australia 2007

The Worlds Paragliding Competition began today with a Pilots briefing 9.00am at the Manilla Town Hall. The Hall has been transformed for the Two Weeks biggest event the town has been planning for the past five years.

Today the Big Opening Ceremony, Air Display with RAAF Roulette PC9 Aerobatics Team. The RAAF F/A-18 Hornet and various sports aircraft,mass school choir, Indigenous heritage group,performance by country music star Felicity Urquhart and a stunning fireworks display.

There are approx 150 Paraglider Pilots and various world media in town for the World's Australia first ever Paragliding Competition. Loads of vistors from around the state are heading for Manilla.

Further updates coming soon on the Big show coming into town on Saturday 3rd of March with a full on side show alley and Rodeo.

Day two of the Worlds resulted in no flying took place on Monday 26th Feb, due to bad weather looks like the drought is finally broken in Manilla. Today is Tuesday 27th Feb, looks like more cloud cover moving in over the Mountain.

Breifing announcement taking place 11.30am today at Manilla Headquarters on flying to go ahead with tasks. At the momment not looking very good to Fly today again, Entertainment tonight on the Big Screen with live band in the town square.
